It is with great regret that we must announce the passing of our dear friend, colleague and founding partner, Andrés Monereo Velasco, in the early morning hours of 2 April.
Born in 1961 in Madrid, he obtained a double degree in law and business administration from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE). He began his career as a lawyer in 1985, specialising in real estate and corporate law. In 1989, he co-founded Monereo Meyer Abogados, what is today a leading law firm for international clients with interests in Spain. Andrés was also Of Counsel at our partner law firm in the United States, co-leading our US Desk.
We knew him as an exceptionally noble person and outstanding legal expert. His love for the firm he founded, saw grow and thrive, along with his professional integrity, have left an indelible impact on us and an empty space impossible to fill.
At Monereo Meyer Abogados, we greatly lament this tremendous loss and wish to express our most heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
