Advising foreign banks, primarily from German-speaking countries, in the framework of their financial operations in Spain has traditionally been and continues to be one of the great strengths of our law firm.
As part of this specific advice, our firm is in charge of the enforcement in Spain of international credit operations, particularly those subject to German law and, more particularly, the incorporation of specific sureties agreed (real estate and chattel property mortgages, assignment of security rights vis-à-vis receivables; pledges or deposits). In this context, our role as legal advisors is not limited to the creation of credit sureties, but also encompasses their effective enforcement, based on constantly evolving Spanish finance law, and its specific regulations in particular.
Traditional banking transactions in the context of enterprise financing or real estate finance are also part of our daily work. Of interest here is project finance, structured financing transactions, whether in senior or junior tranches, working capital loans, subordinated loans, mezzanine financing, bank guarantees, etc. The scope of our work also covers the sale and purchase and assignment of credit, refinancing and new financing, as well as the creation of representative offices and branches of foreign banks and credit institutions in Spain.
