The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market lowers community brand registration rates by 40%

2 April 2009

The reform bill is pending approval by the Commission, but could go into effect in July 2009.

The registration fee will be eliminated while the application fee will increase slightly. This will noticeably simplify the application process by establishing a flat fee of 1050 € for a community brand application submitted on paper and 900 € for an on-line application. The fee for applications file through the Madrid Protocol will be 870 €.
